CA MEDLYNKS KENYA LIMITED is looking for a medical laboratory technologist who has experienced in molecular diagnostics.

CA MEDLYNKS is a medical laboratory that has an emphasis on molecular technologies as our strength. It is one of the pioneers for COVID-19 testing labs in Kenya approved by MoH Kenya.

The company’s mission is to provide delivering the necessary goods and services for medical and research institutions in “Just in
time” way. As our company is rapidly growing, we are urgently looking for talents who can take care of our laboratory work for molecular and other departments such as biochemistry, hematology and immunology departments.

The knowledge and experience for molecular diagnostic work are a must. Working for the labs with ISO 150189 accreditation is a big plus.


As we are introducing night shifts, we request our lab team staff to be flexible with working hours for the convenience of our patients and clients.

Job Description

Sample collection

  • Collects, processes, and handles blood and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures; instructs patients in the proper collection of samples.
  • Visit the patient place and do sample collection on behalf of the lab staffs
  • Take COVID-19 testing samples by wearing PPEs and taking care of necessary safety precautions in the SoPs

Performing and reporting lab tests

  • Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of molecular, hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, as assigned
  • Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes
  • Input the data correctly to the Laboratory Information Management System(LIMS)
  • Check the results and confirm the results are properly stated in the reports to patients/clients
    Quality Control
  • Performs quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
  • Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
  • Review and modify SoPs with discussions with lab director and Quality Manager
  • Create documents for new protocols as necessary
  • Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.
  • Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Communication with patients and clients

  • Explain the reports to the patients/clients in consultation with the lab team, clinical manager, and pathologist
  • Communicate well in advance when anticipating some delays or some troubles of the test results through oral communication and emails/ text messages
  • Review and modify SoPs with discussions with lab director
  • Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.
  • Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.

Inventory management

  • Count the inventory of reagents and consumables on a daily basis and document the status

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Experience in the molecular lab
  • Be registered by KMLTTB
  • More than 5 years working experience in medical laboratories
  • Experience in laboratory audit processes
  • Conversant with the formulation and review of SOPs
