Patient Preparation / Instructions

No fasting or special preparation is needed.

Inform your doctor if you’ve taken any antimalarial drugs, had prior malaria, or recently traveled to endemic regions.

A small amount of blood (1–2 mL) will be collected in a special EDTA tube.
You may feel slight discomfort or bruising at the site of the blood draw, but this is typically minor.
Interpreting Results
