Recommended for individuals with symptoms indicating possible STIs such as sores, discharge, itching, pelvic pain, or after unprotected sexual contact. Also suitable for routine screening before new relationships or as part of regular health checks in sexually active adults.

How To Prepare for This Test

No fasting or special preparation is typically required. For urine-based PCR tests, avoid urinating for a few hours beforehand for best sample quality. Inform the tester if you have taken antibiotics recently or are currently under treatment for STIs.

It’s helpful to give your testing specialist a bit of history about your sexual history or exposure- useful information in personalising your testing needs and results interpretation.

Results are generally processed within 3-5 days after sample collection.
