Test Description

The STI Silver Package is a comprehensive test that screens for several sexually transmitted infections.

It includes testing for HIV using a 4th generation method, which detects both HIV antibodies and p24 antigens for early detection.

The package also includes the TPHA test, which screens for syphilis, and PCR tests for gonorrhea (NG), chlamydia (CT), and Mycoplasma genitalium (MG).

These tests help identify infections that can be silent but may cause serious health issues if untreated.

Indications of the STI Silver Package Test

This package is recommended for anyone who is sexually active and wants to ensure their sexual health.

t is especially useful if you experience symptoms like unusual discharge, sores, pain during urination, or if you have had unprotected sex.

It is also advised for routine screening or before starting a new sexual relationship.

Patient Preparation/Instructions

No special preparation is needed for this test. However, avoid urinating for at least a few hours before the urine PCR tests for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and Mycoplasma to improve accuracy. Inform your healthcare provider if you have taken antibiotics recently, as this can affect the results.

Typical Reference Values

• HIV 4th gen: Negative (no infection detected)

• TPHA: Negative (no syphilis infection)

• NG/CT/MG PCR: Negative (no infection detected)
  Results indicating the absence of infection are considered normal. Any positive result will require follow-up and consultation with your healthcare provider.
