Test Description

The STI Bronze Package provides important screening for common sexually transmitted infections. It includes:

• HIV Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) for quick detection of HIV antibodies.

• VDRL test (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) detecting antibodies indicating syphilis infection.

• PCR test for Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG), Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), and Mycoplasma genitalium (MG), detecting DNA of these bacterial STIs from urine or swab samples.

Indications of the STI Bronze Package Test

Patient Preparation/Instructions

Patients should avoid urinating for at least two hours before providing urine samples for PCR testing.

No special preparation is required for blood tests (HIV RDT and VDRL). Inform the lab if you are on any medications or treatments.

Typical Reference Values

• HIV RDT: Non-reactive (negative) or reactive (positive) for HIV antibodies.

• VDRL: Non-reactive or reactive indicating syphilis infection. Confirmatory testing may be required for reactive results.

• NG/CT/MG PCR: Negative (no DNA detected) or positive (presence of bacterial DNA) indicating infection.
